Open-Source Day

How about a Open-Source day? A day of rest.

Open-source is fast becoming mainstream. So, we thought of dedicating  a day by election as "Open-Source Day". All those who are involved or who like to be involved with open-source methods, we declare it a day of rest.  Check out the site for the open-source day!

Open-Source is more of method and about sharing than anything else. Its method can be used in any old endeavor whether it is make a better chair or to develop better software.  Open and collaborative process is creating new ideas and innovations.

Most people are puzzled by why people would promote open-source free clear software and would devote developing software. First off, it is because it is fun to learn. To see how others solved problems and add your contributions is what motivates many developers in general.

For us at eGenius, we promote and offer outstanding software to do the same we have done with commercial software because we could create solutions, new ones by combinging different softwares. It is because of seeing how it is built and using good components. It is the same thing we do going grocery shopping. We like to ask questions and touch and smell the goods before we take to our mouth.

Software is not an exception. As a development engineer of two decacdes, I should know better having built "a number of large-scale software products."  One thing that open-source needs is a committed user who pays them.  Like food, it is useful to have software developers because they can create new solutions that help people and users.

When building monolithic applications with complicated APIs and architecture, it is easy to lose the essence of initial urge such as "making things fast" or "making it easy to talk with other systems."

There is a good article "Wide Open" by "DEMOS",  It talks about the open-source methods and its future potentials.

Come and join us for a day of rest.
