Podcasting Workshop for Human, Sofia Bulgaria

Non-profit and NGO podcast workshop The first podcast workshop in Bulgaria is taking place in InterSpace New Media Center

Podcast sounds new but it is quite old. You record your voice or interview someone and mix some other audio or play some music. You end up with a MP3 file that others can freely download and listen with their portal player or on their computer.

Why is this special? Because the combination of existing radio format and bit of technology. Podcast is MP3 files with blogging and RSS feed.

However, it is substantially different experience all together. You look around using one of RSS aggegator or feed services. Nothing so industrialized or concerted and rather distributed. It is audio blogging. These blogging news aggegator gives you choices.

You explore and find audio you want to listen to and download. That is it. You listen to it mostly away from your computer when you have your full attention. There is an immediacy and spontaneity about this experience.

He keeps it entertaining. There is a good opportunity to share small MP3 files for NPO/NGO purposes for knowledge and information transfer.

This workshop is to bring practioners of network radio, trad media, technologists, NPO/NGO and artists. It is to introduce how it is typically produced and how it could have impacts for humanitarian purposes. The theme of the workshop is to learn and to explore. We invite participations of people and practioners and see how podcast could benefit in terms of knowledge transfer and learning. We welcome people with podcast equipments and we can make some podcasts from our day long podcast workshop.
